PROTO-TECHNO, ELECTRONICS, EXPERIMENTAL

Le label électronique zurichois investit le Bourg pour une soirée complète et amène dans ses valises trois de ses plus éminents représentants. TRESQUE, dernier venu dans la famille -OUS, est le nouveau projet de d’Incise, artiste issu de la scène expérimentale genevoise que l’on peut notamment voir à l’œuvre dans Diatribes ou La Tène. Sa proto-techno puise ses influences autant dans la noise, le dub et la musique concrète que dans les musiques traditionnelles répétitives. GIBRALTAR VACUUM, side-project de Feldermelder, pénètre au plus profond dans l’ADN de l’electronic dance music, pour en ressortir avec une techno à la fois lourde et tordue. Enfin INK!, le fondateur du label, nous transportera dans ses multiples univers électroniques à travers un DJ set sans frontières.

TRESQUE it’s the name of an almost forgotten medieval dance turned into “an idea of Techno”. Laurent Peter aka D’Incise enters the dance floor – site of the gathering – from the side, with an eye on traditions, construction of reality and fantasy, and the tension between statism and evolution.

Coming from an extended artistic career as improvisation and experimental musician, Tresque returns to his roots that lie in dub music and the sound system culture. The pulse has been growing, slowly and deeply, shaping an idea of groove by reducing it to a simpler and shorter form. In circular movements, Tresque carves his music out of samples and amplified noises using dub techniques and influenced by musique contcrète.

There have not been many live appreances to date –  but GIBRALTAR VACUUM make’s his point unmistakably clear: the beast isn’t dead yet! Feldermelder’s side project digs deep into the DNA of electronic dance music, twists the spine and spits it out as heavily rolling beat monster. These beats are surely connected to the techno universe, but they’re the sassy, loud and headstrong twin you’ve long forgotten. Twisted dance music at it’s best!

Being a descendant of the Hardcore Continuum, INK! has long crossed the borders to the land where only music is left, where origin and heritage become shared goods. He stirs up sets that travel from one outpost of the electronic universe to another – his activities are always about the connections, signals and noises, about nuances. He is known for sets that oscillate in-between – opening windows to musical dawn, or doom.
